Company

We bring command and control, resiliency, and immediacy to the world’s unstructured data. We make it visible, safeguard it against damage, and deliver it instantly to people, workloads, and processes, no matter where they are.

Ransomware is a type of malicious software (malware) that often encrypts or locks user data, making it inaccessible until a ransom is paid. The attacker demands a payment, often in cryptocurrency, in exchange for a decryption key or unlocking tool. While ransomware encryption is best known, ransomware can also directly delete or modify files, rendering them unusable or corrupt. Data exfiltration more frequently goes hand-in-hand with encryption, as attackers threaten to release sensitive data or information if a ransom is not paid. Panzura CloudFS can help mitigate the impact of ransomware attacks through its robust data protection features, including:
  • Immutable storage: Panzura can create immutable snapshots of data, preventing ransomware from modifying or deleting original files.
  • Version control: Panzura's version control system allows users to revert to previous versions of files, potentially restoring data before a ransomware attack.
  • Rapid recovery: Panzura's cloud-based architecture can enable rapid recovery of data from multiple data centers, minimizing downtime in the event of a ransomware attack.
  • Integration with security solutions: Panzura can integrate with other security tools, such as intrusion detection systems (IDS) and antivirus software, to provide a more comprehensive defense against ransomware.
