Company

We bring command and control, resiliency, and immediacy to the world’s unstructured data. We make it visible, safeguard it against damage, and deliver it instantly to people, workloads, and processes, no matter where they are.

Data deduplication is a storage optimization technique that eliminates redundant data at the subfile level, reducing storage requirements. In this process, only one copy of a unique data block is stored, while redundant blocks are replaced with a hash value that points to the existing copy.

Panzura CloudFS uses metadata pointers to record the data blocks that comprise files at any given time. As files are created and edited, the pointers are updated.

This can significantly reduce storage costs, especially for datasets with high levels of redundancy. The actual storage savings will vary depending on the nature of the data being stored. Panzura CloudFS's deduplication algorithm is designed to efficiently identify and eliminate redundant data blocks, providing significant storage savings without compromising performance.
