Panzura was co-founded and funded by a team of engineers and venture capitalists with over ten years of working experience and success together. Before Panzura, they developed the core security and performance technology at wireless networking leader Aruba Networks, and the application delivery technology in Alteon WebSystem’s Layer 4-7 switching products. Alteon was acquired by Nortel for $7.8B and Aruba was acquired by HP for $3B.
Chief Executive Officer
With more than two decades of industry experience, Harr joins the company after holding positions as vice president and general manager at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise (HPE), vice president at VMWare as well as a go-to-market leader and CEO of multiple start-ups, including cloud storage pioneer Nirvanix which he founded, Preventsys which was acquired by McAfee and storage networking leader Sanera which was acquired by McDATA/Brocade. While at HPE, Harr scaled the Americas cloud business 19X leveraging key GTM partners and generated over $1.5B in revenue in five years. He has extensive startup and Fortune 500 vendor experience across cloud, storage, security and networking. Harr received his MBA from the University of Maryland and a BA from Tulane University in Political Economy and Russian. He has four kids and lives with his wife and family in Los Gatos, CA.
Co-founder & Chief Technology Officer
John built his career in software development and engineering management in the computer and networking security industries. His work is the foundation behind leading ATM switching, web acceleration, and Wi-Fi products. John has a reputation for growing start-ups into publicly traded companies. Before co-founding Panzura, John was a member of the founding software team at Aruba Networks, where he served as Director of Engineering. Prior to Aruba Networks, John was a lead software architect and engineer at Alteon WebSystems, playing an instrumental role in the creation of the load-balancing market. At FORE Systems, John was a software engineer before the company began trading publicly in 1994. John completed his master’s degree in computer science at the University of Virginia.
Chief Product Officer
With over 20 years of experience in the enterprise software, networking and storage industries, Rich is a hands-on manager of product management, IT and operations teams. Rich has also previously held Director and VP-level roles in product management and operations. Before joining Panzura, Rich was VP of Operations at Opvista and prior to that ran operations at Wi-Fi infrastructure provider Trapeze Networks, which was acquired by Belden in 2008.
Chief Marketing Officer
Criss Marshall has a record of success developing and executing go-to-market, brand, and communication strategies that generate excellent ROI and increased sales for high-tech startups to multibillion-dollar global organizations. She brings expertise in creating, re-positioning, and revitalizing global branding and marketing messaging frameworks to generate awareness and accelerate demand. She joins Panzura from Palerra where she led marketing and defined and executed a go-to-market strategy that increased demand seven-fold in 6 months. Prior to joining Palerra, Criss was vice president of marketing at G5, and vice president of strategic marketing at Imperva. She has held senior-level marketing positions at NetApp and Sun Microsystems, and served as vice president of corporate marketing for Storage Dimensions through a revenue-enabling IPO and merger.
VP of Global Sales & Field Operations
Keith Carpenter has been in sales and sales leadership positions in the information technology market since 1993 primarily focused on enterprise storage and application delivery. Most recently, Keith was co-Founder and VP of Sales for Intermodal Data an early stage start-up developing highly scalable software-defined storage software for commodity hardware systems. Prior to that he was World Wide VP Sales for Coraid Systems. Keith also ran North American Sales for Virident Systems who was acquired by HGST in 2013. He was co-founder of Cache IQ, an early stage start-up in Austin developing flash based solutions for accelerating NAS deployments, before being acquired by NetApp in 2012. Keith has also held sales and sales leadership roles at NetApp, Auspex, and EMC.
Chief Financial Officer
Jerry has over 25 years experience as a hands-on CFO and executive at numerous hi-tech, financial and manufacturing companies. He is a former partner at the Hiller Group; CFO at Clean Filtration Technologies, a clean-tech company sold to The Dow Chemical Corporation; VP, Finance and recruiting partner at Essential Solutions, an executive recruiting firm focused on VC-backed technology startups; and CFO and EVP of Marketing, Engineering, and Operations for Fyre Storm, Inc., a digital power management ASIC developer. He also held C-level and executive level positions at other technology firms: Galleon Corporation, GaAs MMIC’s and transceivers for wireless broadband; Spectrian Corporation, RF power semiconductors and systems; and Syquest Technology, hard drive removable storage. Jerry has a BA in Physics from Rice University.
VP of Support
Caeli Collins has over 25 years experience building and growing enterprise support teams for the computer storage and network industry. Prior to Panzura, she led Customer Support at Violin Memory, where she was responsible for world wide technical support and developed the infrastructure for global support operations and tools. She also served as VP of Support at ONStor and in senior roles at NetApp and KLA-Tencor. Caeli holds both Bachelor and Master degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from UC Berkeley.
VP of Engineering
Paul Zhang is responsible for Engineering at Panzura. Paul comes to Panzura from Atlantis Computing where he was the Vice President of Product. Prior to Atlantis, Paul was the Sr. Director at Symantec in the Storage Availability and Management group, driving cross-functional collaborations for five major releases of Symantec Filestore. Paul previously ran engineering at Vormetric, served as Security Group Software Development Manager for NetScreen Technologies, and has held engineering management positions at First Virtual Corporation, Diamond Multimedia, Aspect Communications, FutureTel Systems and Connective Strategies. Paul holds an MS in Computer Science from the Computer Technology Institute of the Chinese Academy of Science and a BS in Computer Science from Chang-sha Engineering College and has co-authored 15 granted patents in the areas of security, file system and clustering, and virtualization.
